With a length of 40 km the section Kundl – Baumkirchen is the first section of the access route North and part of the railway track from Munich to Verona. The Lower Inn Valley railway (Unterinntalbahn) shortens the journey time between Munich and Innsbruck by 55 minutes. The new rail link mainly runs in 2-track tunnels, U-box cuttings and other subsurface structures (34 km). The new rail link and the existing route Kufstein – Innsbruck are connected above ground in the areas Radfeld, Stans and Baumkirchen.
