Traffic diversion at Tauern Tunnel on A10

On 28 April the first traffic was officially allowed through the new Salzburg-bound Tauern Tunnel tube with its recently upgraded safety equipment.

Finally the day arrived! The new Tauern Tunnel tube for the  Salzburg-bound carriageway was officially opened for traffic in a counterflow system. This freed up the Villach-bound carriageway for renovation works, which got under way immediately.
