Official opening and release for traffic: the Y PPP East Region project

In the presence of VIPs from the worlds of politics and business, the A5 PPP Y East Region project was officially opened on 29 January 2010.

Against the impressive backdrop of the Tradenberg Tunnel, an official ceremony was held to mark the completion of the project on what became known as Central Europe’s biggest building site, following which the tunnel was officially opened to traffic on Sunday 31 January 2010. Prominent representatives of politics and business, ASFINAG and the tunnel owner discussed the development of the project from the preliminary field research to the final realisation and completion of this major project, which is of extreme strategic importance to Austria as a business location. In line with our motto, ‘You have to know quality to build it’, we are proud to have been able to make a significant contribution to traffic safety by providing general electrical equipment and control and telecontrol technology for the project.
