Lämmerbuckel tunnel - Oldest German highway tunnel is being renovated

January 2011 - the Regional Council at Stuttgart commissioned Dürr Group GmbH with immediate measures at the Lämmerbuckel tunnel on A8 motorway at Wiesensteig.

As part of the immediate measures of the Regional Council, Dürr Group received the acceptance of a bid for the retrofitting of the operational equipment according to RABT 2006. The tunnel Lämmerbuckel is on the motorway A8 from Stuttgart in direction Ulm at the Albaufstieg and represents a major engineer construction. Due to the very high traffic loads, the work will predominantly be performed in the evening and night hours at partial closures as well as during 5 weekends with full closures.

The order includes the expansion of the low voltage distribution systems, CCTV, escape route signs, freestanding emergency stations in front of the entries, self-luminous guidance systems, the expansion of transport facilities and the expansion of the central control system.
