DÜRR proves its competence regarding traffic influencing systems

April 2011 – In April 2011, the North Rhine-Westphalian road administration has awarded DÜRR with the construction of a traffic jam warning system on highway A42 near Herne.

To improve the traffic situation at the highway interchange Herne, a stationary traffic jam warning system with additional directional warning functions will be installed, because due to the long lasting extension works of the highway A43, traffic jams are expected on A42.

Essentially, the system consists of four display sections with variable LED traffic signs Type A/C and B/C on a traffic signs bridge, a display section with variable traffic signs A/C on the side of the road and measurement cross-sections (for the traffic data collection) and an environment data acquisition (sight distance measuring and detection of humidity) section.
